Bryan's Musical Timeline,
1994-95
- December 1995: Bryan performs in 11 cities on his Bryan Duncan
And Choir And Orchestra - Christmas is Jesus Tour. The first of
three annual Christmas Tours (1995-97) wherein Bryan performs his
album with local choirs and orchestras.
- October 1995: Myrrh Records releases Christmas is Jesus,
Bryan's critically acclaimed Christmas album, produced by Dan
Posthuma with orchestration by Tom Howard and Robbie Buchanan. The
album's use of choir and orchestra demonstrates Bryan's musical
music diversity.
- October 1995: A Heart Like Mine, Bryan's contribution to the
best-selling Utmost For His Highest compilation album, is released
to radio stations. The song goes to #1 on the charts. It also
becomes Bryan's first Dove Nomination for Song of the Year (as
well as Inspirational Song of the Year).
- July 1995: Myrrh/Word Records releases Unidos En El, a Spanish
language recording of Bryan's best songs. Bryan reprises work with
Crystal Lewis on some songs.
- March 1995: Slow Revival Tour begins (with Bob Carlisle,
Rebecca St. James and Bryan's
band).
- September 1994: Myrrh releases Slow Revival. The first single,
Traces of Heaven, immediately goes to #1. United We Stand, Things
Are Gonna Change, and Don't Look Away also hit number one on the
AC charts.
- Spring and Summer 1994: Final dates on the Mercy Alive! Tour.
- March 1994: Faithful To You and Five Smooth Stones, the sixth
and seventh singles are released to radio from the Mercy album.
- February 1994: Myrrh releases Mercy Alive, a 60-minute concert
video. It includes highlights from the Bryan Duncan And Band
concert at the Dutch Christian Flevo Festival with guest artist
Anointed. Bryan's performance becomes available to those unable to
catch his band concert on one of the 40 cities in Fall 1993 and
Spring 1994's Mercy Alive! Tour.
- February 1994: Bryan Duncan is nominated by Gospel Music
Association for Male Vocalist of the Year.
- January 1994: Bryan Duncan is voted Male Vocalist of the Year
and Mercy is Awarded Album of the Year by Christian Research
Report's poll.
