Bryan's Musical Timeline (With Sweet Comfort Band)
- April - June 1984: Sweet Comfort Band Farewell Tour. After 10 years
together, the band performs one final tour before going their separate ways.
- October 1983: Light Records releases Perfect Timing, produced by John
and Dino Elefante. The band announces they will break up.
- July 1981: Light Records releases Hearts Of Fire, produced by David
Diggs and Jack Puig, to critical acclaim. Campus Life, CCM, and Billboard
all pick it as a Top Ten Christian Album.
- January 1980: Light Records releases Hold On Tight, produced by Tom
Stipe. The album is one of the first Christian projects recorded at the
prestigious Caribou Ranch in Colorado.
- February 1979: Light Records releases Breakin' the Ice, produced by
Seawind's Bob Wilson. Singles: Got To Believe, Searchin' For Love, and I
Want You With My Life all chart in the Top 20 on Christian radio.
- August 1977: Maranatha Music releases the band's first album, entitled
Sweet Comfort, produced by Tom Coomes. Songs: When I Was Alone and Somebody
Loves You are favorably received by Christian radio. Ryan's Song is added
to secular station KNX-FM (the largest FM station in Southern California
at the time). Another secular station in Southern California adds Childish
Things, which charts in the Top 10 regionally.
- June 1976: Guitarist Randy Thomas joins Sweet Comfort Band in the recording
of their first song, Golden Ages, for the Marantha Music album Marantha
V.
- 1973 - 1975: Sweet Comfort plays concerts primarily in Southern California,
and occasionally tours Northern California and outside the state.
- December 31, 1972: Sweet Comfort is formed as a trio made up of drummer
Rick Thomson, bassist Kevin Thomson and keyboardist and singer Bryan Duncan.
